About Last Mile Health

Founded by survivors of Liberia’s civil war, Last Mile Health (known in Liberia as Tiyatien Health) is committed to saving lives in the world’s most remote villages. Addressing the needs of remote communities that are cut off from basic life-saving health services, Last Mile Health (LMH) works in partnership with the government to strengthen community health systems—bringing health care to villagers’ doorsteps. As part of the post-Ebola recovery effort, the Ministry of Health in Liberia has prioritized launching a national community health workforce able to prevent, diagnose, and treat the most life-threatening health conditions. Following the stabilization of Ebola, reaching zero new cases in 42 days, LMH is working directly with the Liberian government to design, deploy and sustain a national network of community health workers that can have a transformative impact on maternal and child health outcomes and can serve as a first line response to future outbreaks.

Position Summary

Working in partnership with Liberia’s Ministry of Health (MOH), alongside notable implementing partners like the Clinton Health Access Initiative and Partners in Health, LMH’s Health Systems Policy & Planning (HSPP) team is supporting the government in designing and rolling out a national community health workforce (CHW) program built on a network of trained community health workers providing essential health services to Liberia’s most remote populations. The Training and Supervision Coordinator of the HSPP team will be tasked with working with the Liberian government to design and implement components of the program related to the training and supervision of all community health cadres.
